Creation Overview
This miniature AS 400 defence system is a tribute to India’s advanced military technology, created in celebration of Independence Day. Designed and built by Abhishek of Crafted Small, the model captures the essence of a mobile missile launcher using simple, sustainable materials.
The build begins with a carefully sketched layout of the launcher’s base vehicle and mounted missile units. Using corrugated cardboard sheets, the structure is cut and assembled to form the chassis, wheels, and vertical launchers. Toothpicks or skewers are used to add fine detailing, such as antennae or support rods. Adhesives like hot glue or white glue ensure stability, while acrylic paints in camouflage tones—green, grey, and black—bring realism to the surface.
Each component is layered and aligned to reflect the proportions of the real AS 400 system. The final touches include miniature flags, patriotic decals, and optional lighting to enhance the display. The result is a compact, visually compelling model that celebrates both engineering and national pride.
